Job summary

A leader in custom machining and automation in Ontario is seeking a Technical Development Manager responsible for leading interdisciplinary teams in product development cycles from concept to commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechatronics or similar, experience in automation, and proficiency with engineering software. This is a full-time position offering a significant role in shaping the future of the company's product line.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across engineering teams.
  • Manage full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
  • Lead design reviews, testing protocols, and change control.

With the recent acquisition of Adescor, we are entering an exciting growth phase focused on next‑generation product development and commercialization.

Role Overview

The Technical Development Manager provides cross‑disciplinary leadership across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams. This role leads full product development cycles—from concept and prototyping to testing, validation, and commercialization—while shaping engineering capability and technical direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
  • Lead the development of integrated automation equipment and mechatronic systems.
  • Own system architecture, design decisions, and engineering documentation.
  • Manage full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
  • Guide technical roadmaps, requirements, and engineering processes.
  • Lead design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA, testing protocols, and change control.
  • Manage external contractors, design firms, and technical vendors.
