Team Lead, Capital Asset Accounting

Our client is seeking a Team Lead, Capital Asset Accounting to join their team in Calgary. An ideal candidate is accountable for ensuring the sustainment of policies, procedures, and processes of accounting and reporting activities for Property/Capital Accounting, driving continuous improvement.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To:

1. Lead the management of property/capital accounting and reporting, and improvement initiatives
2. Proactively seek to drive new efficiencies and improvements
3. Work with team members and stakeholders to build and execute detailed plans to enhance accounting and reporting processes
4. Manage and review team deliverables including reconciliations, financial disclosures, and analyses
5. Maintain compliance with US GAAP standards related to Property and Assets
6. Oversee the preparation and implementation of annual depreciation studies
7. Support integration of property/capital accounting systems (SAP ECC and S4)
8. Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders
9. Provide support and recommendations for significant Property transactions
10. Ensure processes comply with Internal Control (SOX) requirements

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree and CPA
• 5+ years relevant experience, including 1-2 years in leadership roles
• Experience with Fixed Assets
• SAP experience considered an asset
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
