Caltech invites you to join our Camrose surveying team as a Field Assistant. This entry-level role offers hands-on field experience, learning from experienced Survey Party Chiefs and gaining practical GPS and equipment skills.

You’ll work outdoors in AB terrain, travel to remote sites, and contribute to a safety-first culture while developing core geomatics abilities and data recording accuracy.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Physically capable to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all conditions.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol test.
• Commitment to safety protocols and field logistics.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced Survey Party Chiefs on a variety of survey projects.
• Learn to operate GPS and other advanced survey equipment.
• Operate ATVs, UTV, snowmobile, company truck, jackhammer, pipe locators.
• Assist with staking, boundary marking, and locating survey evidence in the field.
• Record and manage field data with precision and care.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles while learning best practices in field logistics.
