Job summary

BrightPath Kids is seeking a Speech Assistant to work with a Speech Language Pathologist and families to support the development of children. You will help implement speech goals and programming, and collaborate with the daycare team to ensure child progress.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in child care or with children with developmental delays.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver’s license.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

What will you be doing?

As a Speech Assistant, you will work side-by-side with a Speech Language Pathologist and families to provide support and promote the development of children. Responsibilities include:

• Completing follow through on each child’s speech goals.
• Assisting speech and language therapist with implementation.
• Planning and implementing programming based on the needs of the child.
• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.
• Collaborate with day care team.
• Other duties as assigned.
