Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Alberta is seeking a Speech Assistant to work with a Speech Language Pathologist and families to support and promote the development of children. The role focuses on implementing speech goals and building strong relationships with families.

You will collaborate with the daycare team to design and deliver programming tailored to each child’s needs, ensuring engaging activities and clear communication with caregivers.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in child care or with children who have diverse learning or developmental delays.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver’s license.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• CPR & First Aid certification.
• Current immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Completing follow through on each child’s speech goals.
• Assisting speech and language therapist with implementation.
• Planning and implementing programming based on the needs of the child.
• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.
• Collaborate with day care team.
• Other duties as assigned.
