Job summary

Metro Supply Chain Group is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the Sunday to Thursday night shift in Brampton. You will lead safety programs, manage labor scheduling, and drive operational performance to meet client requirements.

You will coordinate with operators and warehouse staff, monitor KPIs, and ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The role requires strong leadership and communication in a logistics setting.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Business Management with focus in Logistics Management or equivalent experience.
• Experience in warehouse or operations environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule labour requirements for the shift to ensure production goals are met within the budgeted cost structure.
• Complete shift briefings to communicate information to all employees.
• Assign and follow up with operators and warehouse staff on task durations and completion times.
• Ensure order sequences are picked based on priority shipments and customers to reduce driver wait times.
• Hold team members accountable for proper picking and packing procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly departmental performance via KPI tracking and data collection for the shift.
• Approve labour hours daily using agile and ensure accurate payroll and cost allocation.
• Provide daily coaching and conduct performance appraisals with proper documentation.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and assess service requirements; communicate when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with health and safety laws.
• Fulfill duties of a supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
• Assume additional related responsibilities as required.

Job description

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for all facets of the operations on the shift.This involves leading all aspects of health and safety, operational performance, customer relations, continuous improvement, and people development.

SHIFT

Sunday to Thursday - 11:00 pm to 07:00 am ; flexibility expected

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedule the labour requirements for the shift to ensure production goals are met within the budgeted cost structure.
• Complete shift briefings to ensure the effective communication of relevant information to all employees.
• Assign and follow up with operators and warehouse staff on the length of time required for tasks to be completed by noting tasks assignments and communicating approximate time of completion,
• Ensure the sequences of orders are picked based on priority shipments and priority customers therefore reducing extensive waiting times for drivers, RUSH loads and late deliveries,
• Hold Team Members accountable for ensuring proper picking and packing procedures are followed and that all production meets or exceeds Client’s quality standards.
• Monitor, analyze and report daily/weekly departmental performance through effective KPI tracking and data collection for respective shift.
• On a daily basis approve all labour hours using agile in adherence with company policies, maintaining accurate record keeping ensuring proper payment of employees for the shift and cost allocation to customer accounts.
• Provide daily feedback to employees through coaching and administer performance appraisals. Handle all disciplinary situations appropriately and in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Maintain close interaction with customers to develop strong relationships while assessing service requirements; communicate where appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Fulfill the duties of a supervisor under the Occupational Health and Safety Act including safety, violence and harassment laws.
• Assumes additional related responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION
