Position

The Supervisor, Maintenance is responsible for development and management of the NorthStar GMP maintenance program and maintenance personnel. The scope of the work controlled by this position includes commissioned and qualified direct and non-direct equipment and systems within NorthStar production and laboratory facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Strengthen NorthStar’s GMP Preventive Maintenance system utilizing vendor recommendations, system SMEs and maintenance personnel experience.
  • Work with NMR engineers to compile system maintenance schedules acceptable with NMR production schedules.
  • Supervise the entry of accurate and complete maintenance data and functionality into NorthStar’s CMMS. Forster CMMS improvement and capabilities.
  • Read and interpret equipment drawings, schematics, P&IDs and diagrams.
  • Maintain maintenance SOPs, work instructions, and CMMS tasks.
  • Work with Facilities and Validation/Calibration teams to ensure proper documentation for maintenance tasks exists and is planned to comply with forecasted company production and development needs.
  • Ensure that personnel are performing assigned tasks to standard and receive professional mentoring and development to stay current on internal policies and external requirements and trends as they apply to their specific role.
  • Perform and participate in FMEA activities to foster continuous improvement.
  • Perform Equipment Maintenance and Calibration Audits.
Qualifications

Associate Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance and a minimum of four (4) years maintenance/facilities experience with a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in an ISO 9000, FDA, cGMP/GLP, and/or USDA regulated environment, and experience working with a CMMS is preferred. Experience working in regulated, manufacturing business would be an advantage, such as Food and Health Care.

Working Conditions

Physical demands may include, but not be limited to, specific vision abilities including near vision/acuity and visual color discrimination.

The work environment may include exposure to a heated/air-conditioned indoor office / manufacturing / cleanroom setting with adequate ventilation and lighting and outdoor environments with varying temperatures. The noise level may vary from quiet to loud. Employees must be willing and able to wear various types of PPE, including, but not limited to, respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, as required by the job to ensure safety in potentially hazardous conditions. Specific cleanroom requirements include employees needing to inform leadership about any health condition that may have an adverse effect on products, as well as compliance with gowning protocols. This means all jewelry, including physically attached items, must not interfere with the effectiveness of personal protective equipment. In addition, all cosmetics, fragranced products (perfumes, aftershave, etc.), and nail products are prohibited, including clear nail polish, artificial nails, and nail extenders.

The company is a radiopharmaceutical manufacturer and radiation may be present in manufacturing and laboratory areas. Employees may be required to be monitored using company provided dosimetry and bioassay testing.

NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes is headquartered in Beloit, Wis. This location is our primary manufacturing site and accommodates all of our corporate functions. Beloit has small city charm, with a lively and renovated downtown, yet is also close to cities such as Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Rockford.
