Alethea is an eConsult and digital diagnostic platform that helps Family Physicians to get specialist advice in 1 day instead of the months or years of a traditional referral. We are dedicated to creating web applications that offer exceptional user experiences and genuinely enhance the practices of our Family Physicians and Specialists.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced rock-star developer to lead our development team. As a startup, we seek a senior developer who can work collaboratively, solve problems, deliver results, and mentor junior team members. You will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining our platforms on mobile and web, which are already making a significant impact on hundreds of family doctors and patients.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Build Alethea’s frontend web and mobile applications using React-Typescript and Firebase services.
2. Maintain and develop our backend using Node.JS and Firebase services.
3. Manage all aspects of the application within Google Cloud Platform.
4. Debug and test our applications.
5. Collaborate with our Product Team to identify and develop new features to meet user needs.
6. Participate in all development stages, from architectural decisions to deployment.

Who You Are:

1. A self-starter with 7+ years of experience in building and maintaining full-stack applications.
2. Proficient in modern frontend frameworks (React preferred), backend development (Node.js), and cloud environments (Firebase, GCP, etc.).
3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with a solutions-oriented mindset.
4. Passionate about building high-quality, user-centric software that solves real-world problems.
5. Willing to challenge the status quo to improve how doctors work and enhance our software and development practices.
6. Comfortable working in an agile, remote-first team and taking ownership of projects from inception to deployment.
7. Familiarity with healthcare, AI, or startups is a plus but not required.
