The Gulf of Georgia Cannery seeks a Summer Education Outreach Coordinator to engage the community through outreach programs. This role involves promoting the Cannery's activities, providing visitor information, and supporting educational initiatives. Ideal candidates are adaptable, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have a passion for history and community engagement.
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery, built in 1894 in the historic village of Steveston, is a living monument to the people involved in BC’s fishing industry. The National Historic Site is operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, a non-profit society. Collaborating with Parks Canada, the Society preserves Canada’s West Coast fishing history and presents it in an engaging and relevant way.
The Summer Education Outreach Coordinator will report primarily to the Curatorial Program Manager and collaborate with the Visitor Experience Manager and Marketing and Communications Coordinator. This role will play a significant part in raising awareness of the Cannery’s year-round activities and communicating the Cannery’s mission to the wider community.
