Patriot Enterprises is seeking a Service Coordinator to support the Army National Guard (ARNG) Military Funeral Honors (MFH) and Survivor Outreach Services (SOS). The coordinator will oversee and coordinate activities within their respective regions, ensuring compliance and effective support for service members and families.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure SOS State Coordinators maintain and update activity records accurately in the systems of record.
- Verify proper entry of work time, travel authorization, and expense reports by SOS staff.
- Provide training to SOS State Coordinators on assigned tasks.
- Mentor staff on program understanding, compliance with Army, NGB, State NG, and IMCOM guidance and regulations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in business, management, or related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in military funeral honors, outreach, referral, and follow-up services to Families and survivors from all service components.
- Strong mission focus, resourcefulness, and knowledge of SOS programs.
- Ability to provide financial counseling, emotional support, and connect families to military and civilian resources.
- Emotional maturity, tact, attentive listening skills, and ability to communicate effectively in sensitive situations.
- Skills to identify resources, facilitate referrals, and assist with benefits navigation (VA, TRICARE, educational opportunities).
- Ability to build rapport with Families, VSOs, CAOs, military leadership, and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing, training, mentoring, and advising SOS Coordinators.
- Ability to maintain and expand resource directories and produce reports.
- Understanding of Army, NGB, State NG, IMCOM policies, regulations, and military culture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Self-starter with good time management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Ability to pass extensive background checks.
