Job summary

Nova Scotia Power is seeking a Project Manager-Engineering in Halifax, NS. You will lead capital projects for substation reliability, guiding them from development and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Field Operations, Asset Management, System Planning, Environmental Services, Safety, and contractors to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while navigating regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Strong project management capabilities and knowledge of formal project management methodologies.
• Sound financial management skills, including budgeting and project cost control.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills across technical teams and stakeholders.
• Experience managing projects through full lifecycle, from planning to closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead Substation Reliability Capital Projects involving high and medium voltage infrastructure.
• Manage projects from development through closeout, maintaining accountability.
• Develop scopes, evaluate alternatives, and justify investments.
• Control scope, schedules, budgets, costs, risks, and priorities.
• Provide budgeting, forecasting, and cost control throughout execution.
• Coordinate with regulatory governance and ensure alignment with standards.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contractors.
