Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking a Project Manager - Civil/Structural for our Utilities Client in St. John's, NL.

You will lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget compliance, and coordinate with engineering, construction and operations teams. Qualifications

• Engineering degree registered with PEGNL.
• Registered professional engineer (P. Eng) with PEGNL or other Canadian association.
• Minimum 10 years progressive PM or engineering experience in Civil/Structural projects.
• Experience leading project risk identifications and mitigations.
• Experience with onsite project monitoring at remote locations.
• Experience in design, managing construction contracts and commissioning.
• Proven strong communication skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of internal and external resources.
• Strong experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, and estimating is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects on operational industrial sites with safety adherence.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, including regular reporting to NL Hydro leadership.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure designs, specifications, and deliverables meet standards and codes.
• Oversee tender packages and participate in contract evaluation and award processes.
• Manage project teams including engineers, contractors, and consultants.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities and support site teams.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks and maintain the risk register.
• Facilitate effective communication across stakeholders and reflect changes in budget and schedule.
• Review and approve technical documentation including commissioning procedures.
• Ensure contractor compliance with NL Hydro policies and safety plans.
• Support development of technical specifications.
• Lead project closeout and transition to operations.
• Promote continual improvement through lessons learned and best practices.
• Submit timesheets and documentation per NL Hydro PM requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadprojectsfrominitiationtocompletion,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredsafely,on time, and within budget;

Education & Experience Required

• EngineeringDegreeinengineeringregisteredwiththeProfessionalEngineersand Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;
• Registered as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with the Professional Engineers and GeoscientistsofNewfoundlandandLabrador(PEGNL)association(orotherCanadian engineering association);
• Minimumof10yearsofprogressiveprojectmanagementand/orengineeringexperience in Civil/Structural Projects;
• Experienceleadingprojectriskidentificationsand mitigations
• Experiencewithonsiteprojectmonitoringatremote locations
• Experienceindesign,managingconstructioncontractsand commissioning;
• Provenanddemonstratedcommunication skills;
• Abilitytothriveasaparticipantand/orleaderwithinamulti-disciplineteamofbothinternal and external resources;
