Job summary

NSB Omega is seeking a Project Engineer - Electrical to support Newfoundland and Labrador projects. The role covers technical support to the Project Manager, risk management, and field activities across multiple sites, ensuring design intent, safety, and timely delivery.

The successful candidate will bring a electrical engineering degree and P.Eng status, and will have extensive experience in project planning, construction, commissioning, and quality programs, with strong communication across

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• P.Eng registration with PEGNL or equivalent Canadian association.
• 10+ years of experience overseeing project engineering in an electrical environment.
• Experience defining project scope, collecting engineering data and detailed planning.
• Experience leading risk identifications and mitigations.
• Experience with onsite project monitoring at remote locations.
• Experience in design, managing construction contracts and commissioning.
• Experience with project quality and inspection programs.
• Proven and demonstrated communication skills.
• Ability to thrive as both participant and leader in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Project Manager on various projects.
• Perform engineering due diligence for project planning and delivery.
• Facilitate and/or complete project risk management activities.
• Conduct field verifications and data gathering for planning.
• Review tender packages prepared by consultants and contractors.
• Review and approve shop drawings.
• Prepare tender packages for contracts and RFPs.
• Provide technical input as a design team member and document.
• Oversee quality planning and inspection plans for assigned work.
• Attend FATs as required.
• Travel to field/sites to monitor construction and support site teams.
• Facilitate communication across stakeholders.
• Review and approve technical documentation, including commissioning.
• Assist with project closeout and transitions to operations.
• Promote lessons learned and best practices across teams.
• Submit timesheets and project documentation per NL Hydro requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Electrical Engineering degree

P.Eng registration with PEGNL

10+ years project engineering experience in electrical environments

Assignment Description

our Client and its subsidiaries require the services of one individualtojoinitsengineeringandprojectmanagementteam.Theindividualwillsupportthe execution ofprojects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador for our Project Execution Team (Non – Regulated).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• ProvidetechnicalsupporttotheProjectManageronvarious projects;
• Performengineeringduediligenceforprojectplanningand delivery;
• Facilitateand/orcompleteprojectriskmanagementincludingriskidentificationand associated mitigation;

EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE REQUIRED
