Stantec’s Energy team is seeking an Electrical Engineering Team Lead to manage a team of engineers, designers and subcontractors across Western Canada. You will lead technical design of substations, mentor junior staff, and support procurement, construction and commissioning for diverse utilities projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, client communication, QA/QC adherence, and the ability to work in a hybrid office/field environment with occasional travel to sites in Western Canada.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 8+ years progressive and comprehensive engineering experience in the transmission and distribution utility business, particularly in design, engineering and maintenance of Substation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work and collaborate with a range of internal and external customers.

Mansioni

• Lead a team of Electrical engineers, designers and subcontractors; provide technical leadership as SME.
• Develop and review technical reports, standards, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Perform engineering studies such as power flow, short circuit, grounding etc.
• Lead detailed design of substations including switchyard layouts and major equipment specs.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Support proposal development, project planning, and cost estimation.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes to deliver high-quality services.
• Conduct site visits to verify existing installations and define project scope.
