Job summary

Stantec in Canada seeks a Senior Protection & Control Engineer to join the Western Canada Power Delivery team. You will work on HV substation and power projects, developing P&C drawings, protection schemes, and design packages in a project team setting.

The role involves collaboration with civil, structural, telecom, and SCADA teams, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting commissioning and site field tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC or equivalent.
• 12+ years of P&C experience; North American utilities experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control drawings for substation and power system apps.
• Design protection schemes, including relay settings and control logic.
• Prepare complete P&C design packages with drawings, specs and construction packages.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of P&C designs and deliverables.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated designs.
• Lead and mentor junior and intermediate engineers.
