Algonquin College seeks a dedicated Housing Support Specialist to assist students with safe off-campus housing, partnerships with landlords, and innovative housing initiatives. You will deliver information sessions, coordinate emergency housing responses, and support students facing housing instability.

The role requires a diploma/degree in social sciences and several years in housing or residence life, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.

Formación

• Minimum three (3) year diploma / degree in sociology, behavioural sciences, social sciences, education or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience a post-secondary residence life and/or community housing setting. Experience developing and delivering housing related programs/workshops for domestic and international students. As well, as experience with risk management in a post-secondaryhousing environment.

Responsabilidades

• The incumbent is a social innovator that significantly contributes to the successful transition and retention of students at Algonquin College through the provision of supports and services related to safe traditional and non-traditional off campus housing at each of the Algonquin campuses.
• The incumbent coordinates and administers the college’s emergency housing response process for students experiencing homelessness or immediate housing crises.
• Note: this position delivers regular information sessions during evening and weekend hours and travel based on campus/community events/meetings/activity.
