Job summary

Emera Finance seeks a Senior Manager, Technical & Corporate Accounting to lead the team responsible for US GAAP reporting, MD&A, and financial statements across jurisdictions. You will drive policy development, ensure SOX compliance, and partner with internal and external stakeholders at the corporate level.

The role requires CPA and 5–7 years in financial reporting or accounting policy, with strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and accounting policy experience required.
• Minimum 5–7 years in financial reporting or policy function.
• Experience with US GAAP reporting for public companies.
• Strong leadership and communications skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Corporate Accounting team and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee MD&A, quarterly and annual financial statements, multi-jurisdictional reporting.
• Research accounting standards and implement changes across the organization.
• Interface with external auditors and senior executives to ensure SOX controls.
