Job summary

Emera Inc. is seeking a Director, Internal Audit, IT to lead technology-focused assurance and advisory services and oversee the IT SOX testing program.

The role involves managing a Canada/US team, building relationships with senior leaders, and delivering evidence-based recommendations to reduce technology risks. Reporting to the VP, Internal Audit, you will develop a forward-looking IT audit plan, ensure adherence to professional standards, and drive remediation of prior IT issues.

Qualifications

• A recognized professional designation, such as CISA, CIA or CPA, is required.
• Minimum ten years in an audit, risk and control environment with three years in an audit management role.
• Strong understanding of IT controls, data governance, cybersecurity, and emerging technology risks.
• Expert knowledge of The IIA's Global Internal Audit Standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Internal Audit – IT function, directing IT audits and ITGC SOX testing.
• Manage a Canada/US audit team including external consultants and mentors.
• Build relationships with senior leaders and ensure independence and objectivity.
