Job summary

Emera Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical & Corporate Accounting to lead and evolve accounting policy and financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

You will guide the Corporate Accounting Team, ensure rigorous US GAAP disclosures, and deliver high-quality MD&A and financial statements for a publicly traded company. Ideal candidates will hold a CPA designation, possess a degree in accounting or finance, and have 5–7 years of progressive experience in financial reporting or policy

Qualifications

• CPA designation and a degree in accounting/finance are required.
• 5–7 years of progressive financial reporting or policy experience.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical accounting to stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage teams and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee US GAAP accounting for Emera Inc. and affiliates.
• Research, analyze, and implement new accounting standards company-wide.
• Ensure timely quarterly and annual MD&A and financial statements in multi-jurisdictional reporting.
• Provide oversight to Corporate Accounting Team for monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage SOX controls and disclosures.
