Job summary

SaskPower is seeking a Specialist in Procurement to lead strategic sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for inventory, maintenance, repair, and operating goods. You will act as a central advisor, aligning procurement practices with departmental and corporate goals.

As part of the management team, you will guide policy interpretation, drive process improvements, and manage contracts across their lifecycles while collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• SCMP designation would be considered an asset.
• Five (5) years of related procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
• Experience with inventory, maintenance, repair and operating materials would be an asset.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA procurement and materials management, or comparable systems.
• Ability to analyze procurement, contract, supplier and operational data.

Responsibilities

• Plan, research, develop, evaluate and implement processes and policies for strategy development and initiatives.
• Act as a subject matter expert to develop and interpret policies and provide practical guidance.
• Identify new business solutions and operational efficiencies with significant impact.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects for strategic planning.
• Represent the department and present material to internal and external audiences.
• Maintain knowledge of industry developments and adapt to SaskPower’s environment.
• Provide leadership to project teams and staff as required.
• Develop sourcing strategies for inventory using demand, spend and data.
• Lead RFPs, RFQs, tenders and negotiations including multiyear supply agreements.
• Develop, negotiate and administer contracts for inventory and MRO goods.
• Manage contracts through lifecycle including amendments and renewals.
• Coordinate supplier performance with internal partners.
