Job summary

GHD is seeking a strategic People Business Partner to join the Canada Central People Team. This role partners with Ontario leaders to shape workforce strategy, drive employee engagement, and improve business performance through people initiatives. The position is based in the GTA with travel within the region.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Centres of Excellence, leadership development, and a strong focus on Canadian employment practices. A hybrid work model is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of related experience.
• CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent designation preferred.
• Experience in a complex, matrixed, or professional services organization is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and employee relations practices.
• Demonstrated experience leading organizational change and implementing people initiatives.
• Exceptional consulting, influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and translate insights into practical business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build partnerships with business leaders to understand priorities and workforce challenges.
• Develop and implement people strategies that support growth and operational objectives.
• Provide data-informed insights on workforce planning, retention, engagement, and talent development.
• Coach leaders on performance management, talent assessment, and career planning.
• Support leadership capability building through coaching and development initiatives.
• Lead or support regional and national People initiatives and projects.
• Deliver annual People processes, including performance reviews and remuneration reviews.
