Job summary

Lyndendoor in Winnipeg seeks a Director of Operations to lead the branch in partnership with the Sales Director, growing teams and customer offerings in the door and millwork sector. This hands-on role blends strategic thinking with daily oversight of operations, production, and logistics to meet customer needs.

The role requires mentoring, capacity planning, inventory control and continuous improvement initiatives, with emphasis on safety, quality and service excellence across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Foster a 'Safety First' culture with emphasis on safe stacking and forklift/pedestrian safety.
• Drive a 'Whatever It Takes' approach to meet 100% on-time order fulfillment with zero quality complaints.
• Develop employees to their highest skills through training and cross‑department collaboration; provide ongoing feedback.
• Own purchasing, warehouse and inventory control, including cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Oversee shop production, capacity planning, layout, receiving and load scheduling, ensuring specs are met.
• Partner with Sales to build product knowledge and strengthen relationships.
• Develop SOPs and training for continuous improvement, waste elimination and mapping.
• Negotiate service agreements with industry partners and vendors.
• Ensure timely picking, loading, shipping and inter‑company transfers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
