Job summary

AV Group NB Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Planner to coordinate mechanical maintenance activities at its Atholville, NB mills. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and ensuring reliability and safety in mill operations, aligning with production goals and environmental and cost requirements.

The candidate will develop work plans, prepare job packages, and support shutdown planning, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and continuous improvement in a global manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education.
• Preference for Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma.
• 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience with planning systems is preferred.
• Leadership and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work plans for mechanical maintenance jobs, including scope, labor, materials, and equipment.
• Prepare job packages including drawings, procedures, safety requirements, and parts lists.
• Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and operations to schedule and prioritize maintenance activities.
• Maintain and update the Maintenance Management & Work Order management systems.
• Ensure critical spare parts availability and liaise with procurement as needed.
• Participate in shutdown and turnaround planning, execution, and close-out reviews.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
