Job summary

AV Group NB Inc. in Atholville, NB, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent to lead a team responsible for the safe, reliable maintenance of our pulp mill equipment. The role drives preventative and predictive maintenance aligned with production goals.

You will collaborate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams, supervise supervisors and tradespeople, and plan shutdowns with a focus on cost control and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education.
• 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Pulp mill experience is an asset.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of mechanical maintenance supervisors and tradespeople.
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams to diagnose issues.
• Plan and execute mechanical shutdown activities including budgeting and scheduling.
• Ensure work complies with OH&S legislation, ISO 14001 and AV Group NB policies.
• Support capital projects through design input and commissioning support.
• Monitor KPIs and drive cost control and asset care.
