Job summary

Stevenson & White in Ottawa seeks a Manager, Complex Accounting to lead complex technical accounting matters, IFRS/ASPE adoption, and related disclosures. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, you will guide the finance team and collaborate across business units.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in technical accounting, strong communication, and proven leadership. This permanent role offers hybrid work, competitive pay, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing required.
• Minimum 6+ years of progressive technical accounting experience with strong IFRS and ASPE expertise.
• Experience leading a team and advising on complex accounting matters.
• Public accounting and/or real estate industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and consolidation tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning process and review of complex financial transactions and accounting issues.
• Drive the adoption of new accounting standards and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Act as a strategic internal accounting advisor to finance leadership and business units.
• Identify opportunities to enhance controls, streamline processes, and advance automation.
• Lead audit coordination and strengthen relationships with external auditors and stakeholders.
• Provide team leadership to ensure integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reporting.
