Job summary

Minto Group is seeking a Manager, Complex Accounting in Ottawa, Ontario. You will lead complex financial transactions, implement new accounting standards, and act as a technical advisor across the finance team to ensure accurate disclosures.

You’ll collaborate with business units, coordinate audits, and champion process improvements while guiding a skilled accounting team toward timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 7+ years of progressive technical accounting experience (IFRS/ASPE).
• Experience in public practice and/or real estate is a plus.
• Experience leading a finance team.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and propose solutions.
• Proficiency in IFRS and ASPE with strong application.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (NewStar, Yardi) and consolidation tools (OneStream) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, processes, and review of complex financial transactions and accounting issues.
• Proactively implement new accounting standards.
• Serve as internal technical advisor to business units and finance teams.
• Identify accounting issues and propose process improvements.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors for multiple entities.
• Build relationships across business units and finance peers.
• Lead change initiatives and support process automation for reporting.
• Provide leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
