Job summary

Vaco in Canada is seeking a Manager, Complex Accounting for a real estate and development client to lead IFRS research, support complex transactions, and guide technical accounting positions across the organization.

The role involves mentoring a finance team, implementing new standards, coordinating audits, and partnering with senior leadership to strengthen reporting practices and defend accounting positions.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• 7+ years of progressive technical accounting experience involving IFRS/ASPE.
• Experience leading a team of finance professionals.
• Experience in public practice and/or real estate is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, process, and review of complex financial transactions and accounting issues.
• Proactively implement new accounting standards.
• Act as an internal technical advisor, providing guidance to business units and finance teams.
• Identify accounting issues and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors for various entities.
• Lead change initiatives and support process automation for reporting.
• Provide leadership to the team to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
• Prioritize effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.

About the Opportunity

Salary Range
