Job summary

Calgary Economic Development is seeking a Manager, Communications to plan and execute OCIF communications and media relations plans. You will write, edit and curate content across channels, coordinating with OCIF and CED teams to uphold brands and strategic objectives.

You will lead editorial content for newsroom and newsletters, support events, and craft speaking notes for key spokespeople while ensuring consistency with the economy’s context and confidential handling of information.

Qualifications

• Strategic thinker with strong communications and media relations expertise.
• Proven ability to plan, write and edit content for internal/external audiences.
• Experience coordinating across departments and handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications and media relations plans for OCIF aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with CED’s communications team on messaging, calendars, and media announcements.
• BeOCIF’s primary storyteller at CED, writing beneficiary stories, press releases and speaking notes.
