Job summary

Commissionaires Ottawa is seeking an Internal Communications and Employee Engagement Specialist to lead planning, development and delivery of internal communications across Ottawa Headquarters, regional offices and field sites.

You will translate organizational priorities and transformation initiatives into clear, timely, audience-specific communications, supporting the PMO and strengthening employee engagement and information sharing.

Qualifications

4 to 6 years of progressive internal communications experience.
Post-secondary education in communications or related field.
Excellent writing and plain-language skills for diverse audiences.
Experience developing multi-channel communications plans.
Experience with intranet/SharePoint and executive communications.
Bilingual English and French preferred; strong translation coordination.

Responsibilities

Develop an organization-wide internal communications strategy and editorial calendar.
Draft executive communications, CEO letters, leadership messages, FAQs and change communications materials.
Plan, write, edit and publish internal newsletters, intranet content and transformation hub updates.
Create and maintain leadership communication toolkits including briefing cards and talking points.
Coordinate town hall communications and follow-up summaries.
Develop bilingual materials for employees with limited digital access.
Design and manage feedback mechanisms and close the loop with published answers.
Build tailored communication approaches for field guards, supervisors and regional employees.
Coordinate communications for regional visits and engagement sessions.
Establish and track internal communications metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
