Job summary

The City of North Vancouver is seeking a dynamic full-time Manager, Communications to lead the Communications and Engagement team within the Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer. This leadership role focuses on proactive programs, media relations and integrated communications across City services and events.

You will manage staff and contractors, collaborate with partners such as Tri-municipal shops, and ensure accessibility and consistency of City communications while serving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Journalism with 5+ years supervisory experience
• Experience in municipal or public sector with unionized staff
• Experience in strategic communications, issues management, marketing and digital content
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of proactive communication programs.
• Oversee media relations and reactive communications for the organization.
• Provide leadership to a team of staff and external contractors.
