Job summary

The City of North Vancouver is seeking a dynamic full-time Manager, Communications to lead the Communications and Engagement team. This senior role reports to the Director of Communications and Engagement and oversees strategic communications across the organization, including media relations, digital content, and channel optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Journalism or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Minimum five years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in municipal/public sector with unionized staff.
• Experience in strategic communications, issues management, marketing and digital content development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement proactive communication programs and strategies.
• Provide leadership to communications staff and external contractors.
• Lead media relations and reactive communications for the organization.
