Job summary

The City of Victoria is seeking a Communications and Engagement Coordinator to lead communications campaigns and engagement initiatives that support City programs and services. The role emphasizes inclusive and accessible approaches to participation from diverse communities.

You will develop and implement engagement plans, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners, and contribute to policy development and emergency communications as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Communications or Journalism (4 years).
• 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May substitute in a more senior position; government or public institution experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement communications plans and tools for City programs and initiatives.
• Develop engagement plans to gather community input and summarize findings for leadership.
• Coordinate public events and ensure accessible engagement activities.
• Provide communications support during emergencies as needed.
• Maintain website and engagement platform content and brand consistency.
