Job summary

The City of Revelstoke is seeking a creative Communications Coordinator to join our team in British Columbia. You will develop and implement communication strategies that promote city initiatives, events, and services across media, social channels, newsletters, and the website.

As a key resource for Council, leadership, staff and the community, you will craft clear, engaging messages, build relationships with local media and stakeholders, and support public consultations and emergency

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication across multiple channels.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear messages.
• Experience supporting public consultations and crisis communications.
• Experience acting as a spokesperson a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communications strategies for the City’s initiatives, events and services.
• Create content for media releases, social media, newsletters and the City website.
• Build and maintain relationships with local media, community organizations and stakeholders.

This role is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies that promote the City's initiatives, events, and services while ensuring clear, consistent, and engaging messaging across a variety of communication channels.

As a key communications resource for Council, senior leadership, staff, and the community, you will create and coordinate content for media releases, social media, newsletters, and the City's website, while building positive relationships with local media, community organizations, and other stakeholders. You will also support public consultations, community engagement initiatives, and emergency and crisis communications, including acting as a spokesperson for the City when required.
