Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Canada, Ltd. is seeking a Steam Turbine Support Engineer to provide technical planning and engineering support for outage and service projects on steam turbines.

You will translate inspection history, drawings, and project scope into practical work packages, schedules, and execution plans. Work closely with engineering, field service, and project teams to define methods, assess risks, and resolve issues during execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Five+ years with steam turbines or large rotating equipment.
• Experience planning or supporting major inspections/outages.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment assembly, clearances, fits, alignment, bearings, seals.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, inspection reports, and maintenance procedures.
• Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally.
• P.Eng. registration or eligibility is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed technical execution plans for turbine disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, testing, and return‑to‑service.
• Review drawings, manuals, outage reports, inspection findings, and equipment history.
• Develop job procedures, work packages, inspection plans, checklists, hold points, and turnover docs.
• Support outage scope development, work breakdowns, tasks, scheduling, tooling plans, and contingency planning.
• Participate in site walk-downs and planning meetings to confirm equipment condition and site constraints.
• Provide technical support to field teams and coordinate with engineering and service specialists.
• Assess inspection results and support repair recommendations and updates to the execution plan.
• Identify required tooling, consumables, fixtures, services, and contingency parts.
• Support technical discussions with customers on scope, findings, risks, and methods.
• Track actions, responses, and risks; provide progress updates to leadership.
• Capture lessons learned and suggest improvements to procedures and designs.
