We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our Finance team and support our growing U.S. and Canadian operations. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is eager to contribute to financial accuracy, cost efficiency, and process improvement.

As Staff Accountant, you will take ownership of general ledger maintenance, cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation. You’ll also play a critical role in ensuring compliance with internal controls and external standards, while partnering closely with operations to strengthen cost tracking and efficiency.

This position is well-suited for someone who not only brings strong technical accounting skills but also demonstrates leadership potential and a collaborative mindset. With opportunities to provide backup support to the Controller, mentor team members, and engage with cross-functional stakeholders, this role offers both challenge and growth potential.

Functional Accountabilities

1. General Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal policies.

2. Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support

  • Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Support inventory valuation and standard cost updates.
  • Collaborate with operations to improve cost efficiency and reporting.

3. Credit Card & Expense Management

  • Oversee credit card allocations, approvals, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate expense reporting.

4. Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow and resolve discrepancies.

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Support department heads in budget adherence and forecasting.

6. Holding Company & Loan Reconciliation

  • Maintain accurate records for holding company assets and depreciation.
  • Process and reconcile loan payments and schedules,

7. Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure tax/regulatory compliance.

8. Controller Backup & Leadership Support

  • Serve as backup to the Controller during absences or peak periods.
  • Provide guidance to finance staff and support cross-functional collaboration.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.

  • Experience with cross-border transactions or multi-currency accounting is a plus.
