Job description

The Canadian Marketing team is seeking a Senior Manager to join us. This role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing, and is responsible for supporting marketing and brand initiatives to drive business growth. The incumbent will develop comprehensive marketing plans from strategy through execution and measurement within a highly matrixed, cross-functional team. Leveraging their knowledge of multi-channel marketing, interpersonal, and project management skills, they will lead creative and media agencies to deliver impactful campaigns. Collaboration with internal Visa teams such as Product, Sales, Research, Legal, and other regional Marketing teams is essential. The ideal candidate will be analytically savvy, detail-oriented, adept at managing budgets, and a proactive problem solver who can handle complex challenges and ambiguity. They will contribute to our strong, inclusive team culture.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the primary contact and marketing expert for dedicated product lines within Visa Canada.
  2. Build and nurture cross-functional relationships to establish trust and collaboration.
  3. Contribute to the development and management of the annual marketing plan.
  4. Collaborate with clients, agencies, and Visa stakeholders to ideate and launch innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns.
  5. Lead the measurement, analysis, and reporting of marketing performance and its impact on business results.
  6. Participate in, influence, and contribute to global marketing initiatives.
  7. Present to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  8. Manage daily operations of creative and media agency partners.
  9. Oversee budget management.

This position is hybrid; days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or at least 5 years with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 2 years with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
  • Experience in fast-paced, highly matrixed organizations.
  • Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in Payments, Financial Services, CPG, or Technology industries.
  • Proven success in B2B and B2C marketing strategies.
  • Ability to execute result-driven campaigns in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Fluency in Creative Development, Mass Media, Digital/Social channels, including influencer campaigns.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of the Canadian payment landscape and Visa products.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual in French is a plus.
