Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking an Educational Assistant for a 50% term, 17.5 hours per week (12:00-3:30). You will support students with exceptional needs, including ASD and developmental disabilities, in collaboration with teaching staff.

Candidate should have a college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or related field, with 1–2 years of experience. Knowledge of Dragon and Kurzweil software is an asset.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Developmental Services Worker or related program.
• Experience with students with exceptional needs is required.
• Familiarity with Ontario Curriculum and assistive software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support students with exceptional needs in collaboration with teaching staff.
• Modify programs to meet learning needs of students with disabilities.
• Support pool programs and deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students as needed.
• Perform duties such as assisting with toileting, lifting, and feeding when required.
