Zusammenfassung

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant for a 50% term, 17.5 hours per week (11:30-3:15).

Under the Principal, you will support students with exceptional needs, including autism and developmental disabilities, and collaborate with teachers and staff on programs, including pool duties and assistive technology.

Experience with Ontario Curriculum and devices like Dragon and Kurzweil is an asset; copies of diplomas/certificates should be included with application.

Qualifikationen

• Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care/Worker or equivalent.
• Experience supporting school aged students with exceptional needs is preferred.
• First Aid/CPR is an asset; completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or BMS training is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Provide support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities in regular classrooms.
• Assist with pool programs, physiotherapy exercises and stretches as required.
• Modify programs and support learning for students with learning or speech/language issues.
• Support confidentiality and collaborate with teaching and professional staff.
