Job summary

The Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg is seeking an Educational Assistant - Special Needs to support students’ physical, social, academic, and behavioural well‑being, and to assist with instruction and life skills development. You will help implement strategies for growth and provide supervision in various environments.

The role requires an Educational Assistant diploma and a minimum of two years’ experience with children, including those with physical, cognitive, or behavioural challenges.

Qualifications

• Completion of Educational Assistant diploma and minimum two years' experience with children of various ages.
• First Aid and CPR training completed within probationary period.
• WEVAS/Working Safely with Students and Respect In School or equivalent training required.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Support development of skills and growth, fostering independence under direction.
• Coordinate with classroom teachers, clinicians, and staff for individual or group support.
• Implement student-specific plans and programming.
• Maintain records and supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Assist students with mobility and personal care needs.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures and adhere to policies.
