Qualifications

• Completion of Educational Assistant diploma and a minimum of two years working with children; preference for experience with physical, cognitive or behavioural challenges.
• First Aid and CPR training completed within probationary period.
• WEVAS, Working Safely with Students, and Respect In School or equivalent training required.
• Ability to support K-12 programming and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Support development of skills and growth, fostering independence under direction of school administration, classroom and student service staff.
• Implement student-specific plans and articulated programming.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
• Perform record-keeping as required.
• Supervise and assist students during instructional and non-instructional time.
• Prepare and organize materials for student programming.
• Assist students with mobility as needed and required.
• Use PPE and safety strategies to support personal safety.
