Job summary

Winnipeg School Division seeks an Educational Assistant C to support students with educational/development disabilities and those in inclusive education settings. Responsibilities include instructional support, assisting teachers, and supervising students during various activities.

The candidate will work under the direction of the Principal and/or designate, with duties including assisting with IEP/BIP implementation and field events as required.

Qualifications

• Complete secondary education or equivalent related work experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with students with social, academic, and/or behavioural difficulties
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates
• Educational Assistant Diploma or Certificate an asset
• Valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certificate is an asset

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional assistance to individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties with meeting educational outcomes.
• Assists students in completing assignments and developing study and organizational skills; helps them stay focused on tasks.
• Provides general assistance to students; assists with speech/language therapy as required; supports IEP and BIP implementation as needed.
