Job summary

The Louis Riel School Division is hiring an Educational Assistant – Special Needs at Nordale School in Manitoba. The role supports students’ physical, social, academic, and behavioural well-being, delivering instructional programming and modelling life skills and positive behaviour.

The successful candidate will implement student-specific plans, assist with mobility, and help maintain a safe learning environment across environments, aligning with the Division's strategic plan.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant diploma and minimum two years' experience with children.
• First Aid and CPR training within probationary period.
• WEVAS, Respect In School or equivalent training.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting and transferring.
• Ability to support K-12 literacy and numeracy.
• Team player with ability to adapt and collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Support development of skills and growth, fostering independence under supervision.
• Implement student-specific plans and articulated student programming.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
• Perform record-keeping procedures as required.
• Supervise and assist students during instructional and non-instructional time.
• Prepare and organize materials for student plans and programming.
• Assist students with mobility and personal care needs.
• Ensure safety and PPE usage as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
