Job summary

School District No. 27 (Cariboo-Chilcotin) invites applications for a part-time Spanish and Psychology teacher in the afternoons (blocks C and D) from now until June 30, 2027, with a 57.1% FTE allocation. This temporary assignment is pro-rated based on the FTE and scheduled each afternoon.

The role requires BC teacher certification, bilingual Spanish/English fluency, and eligibility to work in Canada. Relocation assistance may be offered and the district supports ongoing professional development

Qualifications

  • Training and experience teaching Spanish and Psychology at the secondary level
  • Fluent in both oral and written Spanish and English
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. This position will not be supported by an LMIA job offer.
  • Valid BC Teacher Regulation Branch Certification. Letter of Permission may be considered to applicants who are fluent in Spanish and who have experience working with secondary school age students.

Responsibilities

  • Mentorship program for new teachers (0-2 years of experience).
  • Professional Development opportunities with district leaders.
  • Hands-on coaching in the classroom and in sessions.
  • Participation in collective agreement provisions and district leadership engagements.

Job description

Description of Assignment

57.1% FTE Part-time, temporary. Effective immediately until the return of the incumbent (but will not extend beyond June 30th, 2027). The FTE of this assignment may decrease to accommodate the incumbent. This position is scheduled every afternoon in blocks C and D.

Salary

The salary of this assignment is based on our current salary grid and upon verification of your BC TQS as well as verification of years of service from previous employers. The current salary range is $63, 347.00 to $116, 190.00 per annum (pro-rated to the FTE of the assignment), paid over 10 months.

We also believe in providing Professional Development which enhances the provisions of our collective agreement. The District has engaged in long term contracts with several (up to 6) educational leaders. Teachers can expect to see the educational leaders in our District, up to 2 days prior to a Professional Development Day, offering hands on coaching both in the classroom and in sessions (evening or during the Professional Development Day).

Our local teachers' union, the Cariboo Chilcotin Teachers' Association, also boasts strong collective agreement language regarding Professional Development as well as financial support for their members to engage in opportunities.

Relocation allowance may be offered with this position.
