Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Coquitlam, BC, is hiring a Sous Chef to lead culinary operations and mentor a small team. You will assist in planning, ordering, inventory, and executing standards for quality, safety, and presentation.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years as a Sous Chef, a Food Safe certificate, and a passion for great food and service in a retail environment. Join our energetic, inclusive team and contribute to world-class customer experiences while we grow.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or related role.
• Experience leading a team.
• Passion for great food and outstanding service.
• Retail/customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the department’s business plan to achieve financial targets (sales, margins, expenses).
• Assist in product ordering and inventory control to meet service levels.
• Assist in recruitment, training, development, and performance management.
• Coach and mentor staff to foster learning and development.
• Ensure quality, freshness, and presentation within the department.
• Support health and safety and food safety SOPs.
• Promote an Always Customer First philosophy and support the monthly inventory process.
