Job summary

Kongsberg Discovery Canada Ltd. is seeking a Software Developer to design, implement, and test high-performance C/C++ applications for Windows and Linux.

You will work across software and hardware to enable data control, visualization, and monitoring for our sonar systems. The role involves collaboration across software, hardware, and product teams, with an emphasis on robust architecture, testing, and continuous improvement in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ development on Windows and Linux.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and OO design.
• Experience with multithreaded programming and concurrent systems.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking and system-level programming.
• Familiarity with Windows APIs, MFC, and embedded Linux tooling (Yocto).
• Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control/CI/CD platforms.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
• MATLAB experience is a strong asset.

We're looking for a Software Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and working across software and hardware to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

You’ll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and long-term product support—helping create software that controls, monitors, and visualizes data from our portfolio of sonar systems.

• Experience with multithreaded programming and concurrent systems.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking and system-level programming.
• Familiarity with Windows APIs, MFC, and embedded Linux tooling e.g Yocto .
• Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
