Job summary

Kongsberg Discovery Canada Ltd. is seeking a Software Developer to build high-performance sonar software across Windows and Linux, interfacing with hardware and solving complex technical challenges.

You will contribute through the full software lifecycle, write unit tests, document APIs, and collaborate with software, hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong C/C++ development experience on both Windows and Linux.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and object-oriented design.
  • Experience with multithreaded programming and concurrent systems.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking and system-level programming.
  • Familiarity with Windows APIs, MFC, and embedded Linux tooling e.g Yocto.
  • Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience working within Agile development teams.
  • MATLAB experience is a strong asset.

We're looking for a Software Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and working across software and hardware to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

You’ll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and long-term product support—helping create software that controls, monitors, and visualizes data from our portfolio of sonar systems.
