Job summary

KONGSBERG is seeking a Software Developer to join our engineering team, building software that powers advanced sonar technology. You will craft robust C/C++ applications for Windows and Linux, interfacing with sonar hardware, and contribute across the full software lifecycle from architecture to testing and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ development experience on both Windows and Linux.
• Experience with multithreaded programming and concurrent systems.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking and system-level programming.
• Familiarity with Windows APIs, MFC, and embedded Linux tooling e.g Yocto.
• Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar source control and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
• MATLAB experience is a strong asset.

We're looking for a Software Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, writing high-quality code, and working across software and hardware to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

You'll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and long-term product support—helping create software that controls, monitors, and visualizes data from our portfolio of sonar systems.
