Job summary

Aplin is seeking an experienced Senior Software Asset Manager to lead licensing, audits, renewals, and optimization programs across the organization. The role requires deep SAM expertise, licensing models knowledge, and a track record in SaaS and cloud licensing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Software Asset Management focusing on software and SaaS licensing.
• Strong knowledge of licensing models, entitlement management, compliance, audits, and contract terms.
• Experience with SaaS, cloud, and AI licensing/subscriptions.
• Experience with SAM platforms and discovery tools; Ivanti assets noted.
• ITIL v4 Foundation or higher is preferred.
• CSAM or CITAM-style SAM certification is strongly preferred.

• Lead SAM initiatives, including software audits, reconciliations, true-ups, renewals, and remediation.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for software licensing and SAM on enterprise projects.
• Analyze usage, entitlements, contracts, and licensing terms to identify compliance and cost-optimization opportunities.
• Manage licensing across perpetual, SaaS, cloud, and AI platforms, including Azure and Microsoft Copilot.
• Lead external software audits and coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Develop reporting and dashboards to provide leadership with visibility into software compliance, costs, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Review software agreements and communicate contractual requirements, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Develop and improve Software Asset Management processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Software Asset Management experience, with a strong focus on software and SaaS licensing.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing models, entitlement management, compliance, audits, and contractual terms.
• Experience managing SaaS, cloud, and AI licensing/subscriptions.
• Experience with Software Asset Management platforms and discovery tools; Ivanti IT Asset Management and Ivanti Endpoint Managerare considered assets.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Power BIor similar reporting/analytics tools.
• ITIL v4 Foundation or higher is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 19770or other IT Asset Management/SAM standards is an asset.
• CSAM, CITAM, or similar SAM certificationis strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex licensing concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Post-secondary education in IT, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
