COFOMO is seeking a Software Architecture Advisor in Montreal to lead embedded flight software programs. You will define requirements, architecture, and guide Agile teams while coordinating with clients to deliver integrated flight software.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in embedded software, expert C++17 and RTOS skills, and CI/CD experience. Proficiency with CCSDS/MIL-STD-1553, CAN Bus, SpaceWire, and Linux, plus fluency in French (professional) and English for docs and meetings.

Qualifications

• Hold an undergraduate degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• 15+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Master C++17 and RTOS; lead development teams in Agile.
• Implement CI/CD in embedded software contexts; use Git/JIRA/Confluence.
• Apply formal software development with requirements, design and testing.
• Knowledge of CCSDS, MIL-STD-1553, CAN Bus, SpaceWire; embedded Linux.

Both strategic and tactical, we help organizations across a wide range of industries thrive in today’s rapidly evolving world.## Our promiseHelp our clients succeed and maximize the impact of their transformation initiatives, turning them into powerful drivers of growth and innovation.## Job description**Here is a brief overview of the tasks and responsibilities:*** Support the development of formal documentation in a multidisciplinary team environment (systems, digital, RF);* Interact with clients and participate in the estimation of new projects;* Define requirements and architecture;* Act as a leader in continuous improvement initiatives;* Act as a leader in the development of team members: conduct one-on-one meetings, act as a coach, offer performance feedback;* Work with an agile team as a technical leader;* Collaborate with a team to design, code, test and maintain the integrated flight software using the suite of development tools;* Support the integration of flight codes and testing within flight units;* Diagnose bugs and problems in the lab;* Develop and maintain applications on embedded Linux platforms;* Design software solutions that integrate satellite communication standards, including DVB-S2X;* Operate RF systems and understand their interactions with embedded software;* Interpret and apply CCSDS and MIL-STD-1553 norms and standards;* Use and integrate communication protocols such as CAN Bus and SpaceWire;* Use development environments such as Visual Studio or Eclipse;* Support software process automation.**The profile we are looking for is as follows:*** Hold an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or an equivalent discipline;* Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in embedded software development;* Master programming in C++17 as well as software development on real-time operating systems (RTOS);* Effectively lead development teams in an Agile environment;* Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices in an embedded software development context;* Use version control systems, including Git, as part of the software development lifecycle;* Ability to apply the principles of formal software development, including requirements management, design and testing;* Use JIRA and Confluence tools for tracking and managing development activities;* Know the VectorCast tool in a context of validation and software testing;* This position requires working primarily in French, while requiring a functional command of English for daily tasks.
