Job summary

Nova Inn Yellowknife, part of Nova Hotels, is seeking a full-time Shuttle Driver to transport guests safely and provide outstanding service. You will interact with guests, drivers, maintenance and operations, and uphold health and safety standards.

Requirements include a Class 4 driver’s license, the ability to load and drive, punctuality, teamwork and strong communication. You will perform pre- and post-trip checks, maintain a clean bus, and handle passenger behavior professionally.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive safely in various weather, light, road and traffic conditions.
• Respect fellow employees, equipment and customers.
• Ensure compliance with Hours of Service requirements.
• Pre- and post-trip checks of the shuttle; ensure fluid levels.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain radio contact.
• Manage passenger behavior and resolve issues promptly.
• Communicate with hotels at scheduled times; be prepared to go.
• Fuel bus as needed and record information; no passengers while fuelling.
• Maintain a clean bus and report defects or unsafe conditions.

We are looking for a full-time Shuttle Driver to join our team at Nova Inn Yellowknife. In this role you will be responsible for safely transporting guests and providing superior service. Drivers must have good communication skills both oral and written to interact with fellow drivers, maintenance, the operations team as well as the public they serve. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are required qualities.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive safely, responsibly and be prepared for all kinds of weather, light, road and traffic conditions.
• Respect fellow employees, equipment and customers
• Ensure compliance with the “Hours of Service” requirements
• Pre and post trip checks of the shuttle each time it is used (emphasis on ensuringadequate fluid levels)
• Complete all applicable paper work required
• Maintain radio contact and use proper radio protocol
• Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
• Communicate with hotels at your scheduled time, prepared and ready to go.
• Fuel bus as required and record information as per procedure
• No passengers on while fuelling
• Maintain a clean bus
• Complete & submit all pre-trips for all defects
• Report unsafe conditions
• Report an injury
• Use the safe work procedures
• Cooperate with the employer through involvement in all aspects of the Health and Safety management system
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations and policies
• Know where registration, inspection and collision reporting documents papers are located
• A “Drivers Abstract” will be obtained annually.
• Drivers must carry their driver’s licence with them when on duty driving.
• Will be assigned other tasks within hotel in between shuttle times
